Usually such people like to identify concwntration with their bodies, and being physically defective, they feel the same in their thoughts and emotions, i.
When, instead of these many useless thoughts, there appears only one, it is a power in itself and has a wide influence. Always he advises, supports and encourages those inspired toward true spirituality as being the highest and the ultimate aim.
Then it becomes unnecessary, just as it would be pointless to send a graduate back to an elementary school, for he has nothing to learn from it. I may be so unreasonably attached to my family that for example, from my egotistical point of view, I imagine that I have to be continually anxious about its welfare, forgetting that every human being has its own destiny and karma, which no one can influence beyond the narrow limits of his activities.
But this wisdom must invariably be obtained here and now, for it is evident from the foregoing, that death cannot bring us any ‘additional’ knowledge, which has had no prior existence. This is conxentration intuitonal knowledge also called the wisdom of the Self, which is the ultimate aim.
Such an arrangement is even against the very idea of concentrated and directed effort, which is expected from the student.
Later you are given the reverse of this; for if a result of Samadhi i. Let us analyse the first part of it which shows that the power of the mind manifests itself only in the thinking process. For this first exercise, and maybe others, do not attempt to eliminate thoughts, or reduce thoughts, or analyse during the exercise.
The outer forms of the Eastern and Western traditions may differ, but not their innermost initiatory contents.
According to every rule of concentration, no other thought should be permitted to enter your mind and all your attention must be focused on compelling the needle to change its position by about 45 to 90 degrees.
On the other hand, an average man, not affected by any of the above-mentioned blemishes of character or body, will undoubtedly enjoy a fair reward from an earnestly undertaken study of the subject.
From the many existing branches of Yoga we will examine only those which use concentration as their motive power. As it happened, I had no definite idea what these would be, as the booklet spoke little about the ultimate target of the study.
But for those who have attained it and managed to live in it, Turiya—or in other words, the Sahaja Nirvikalpa Samadhi perennial formless super-consciousness or ecstasy —is a normal everyday experience, and all other lower states are for them utterly unreal, narrow and limited.
It is completely against its dominant use, which is to extrapolate and find correlating ideas linked to the previous idea. It is much harder to do than earn a degree as I mentioned previously, and it is not a matter of filling one’s mind from books with the thoughts of others and trying to solve and answer problems and questions already solved and concwntration long ago.
Szdhu such a being has every right to worship with the hope that its prayers may be heard and fulfilled.
