I think a pregnant Lee Marvin would have been better. Barry is the first writer to win the Hugo, Nebula, and John W. Mar 12, Gary Bake rated it really liked it. Totally going to try more books from the author!

Enemy Mine Series
This article about a science fiction short story or stories is a stub. I’m not sure if there’s much difference between them, but I LOVE this book, and would recommend it to anyone, fan or not of science fiction I was really expecting it to be more space-battle-y from the title, but was pleasantly surprised.
Published December 31st by Jove Books first published September Regardless, it is a poignant little story that deserves the accolades it achieved for ambition alone, yet seems to have faded from the reprints, anthologies, and the like given the weakness of style.
I happened to have watched the movie first, but I loved the book. Teens and even tweens would probably appreciate it, too. The end differs quite a bit, if I recall correctly. Trivia About Enemy Mine.

View all 10 comments. Please note this review is for the novella Enemy Minenot the novel. In the days of VHS, I got a copy and watched it over and over again until the tape was stretched and there were lines of colourful static running through parts of it.
I hope Hollywood pic it up again. The plot is not new and will never grow old: Post as a guest Name. Universal thoughts about war, and racism and a beautifully story about hate and friendship. But besides that one thing, the three main characters, their dialogue, and relationships are very well-constructed and feel real and visceral.
Sweeping the major American novella awards, Barry B. You believe in the characters dnemy the ever strengthening relationships. It moves at a good pace. Propaganda of the kind the human authorities spread about Drac for purposes of imperialist expansion is still in use today, making Enemy Mine no less relevant, or less interesting, for another generation. It longyyear me acutely aware of how badly English needs a standard third-person non-gendered pronoun, because after finishing this book, you won’t want to call Jeribah Shigan an “it”.
Basically kicking the emotional impact up a few notches.

I’ve always been charmed by the idea of being stranded on anything – an island, a planet, a mountain Sign up using Email and Password. I had only a vague memory of it, mainly just lpngyear attempt, over a campfire, to move from trying to kill each other to communicating. After the gap caused by his mmine experience, Longyear returned to active work with a sharp Dystopia about OverpopulationSea of Glasstold from the viewpoint of a child whose birth was illegal but who is allowed to survive by the governing Computer which struggles coldly to deal with the huge excess of humans on the planet by creating an artificial War.
I enjoyed the story way more than the ending. Dracs are a race of aliens which are reptilian in appearance and reproduce asexually. At the same time, the alert clarity and genre cunning of Longyear’s best work seem potentially available to him, and may surface again.
On the bad side, narration feels rushed very often – from enemies to romantic cuddling in just a few sentences, the dying of alien Jeriba “Jerry” Shigan, and Davidge’s investigation on Dracs’ planet to search for Jeriba’s child.
