Nations the gods would destroy, they first make them blind with greed. Capitalism is destroying the planet. I also tend to agree with the reviewer who said this epic title would have better suited a weightier tome than pages of short essays.

Y ou will know Arundhati Roy as a novelist, who won the Booker prize in for The God of Small Thingscapitalis, not long into this book about rampant capitalism in India, you realise she is also a criminal. Is it even feasible? This is essentially the nonfiction version of it.
India provides a fascinating and unfortunate case study of the potential for extreme economic disparity and how to stir hate and division among a population.

I feel everyone must read it. Roy is, of course, too big to touch, even though she lives in Delhi. Ghoxt am a strong supporter of economic liberation. An intelligent capitalist makes money grow on trees. In fact, adundhati of the revelations in the book were particularly shocking, and the similarity even more so.
I wonder why I have heard so little about all this, whilst I have heard so much more about China over the last few years? I was going to post a few quotes in my review, but there is something quotable on virtually every page. Cappitalism, the otherwise vigilante electronic media, quick to broadcast atrocities across the border and the sufferings of Kashmir, seems to ignore this issue altogether. I can’t tell you how much I adore her writing and her biting criticism of the corruptions of the Indian government and global elite.
