In reply to grubsneerg, when I click on the pre numbered labels that bookcrossing site alleges that I have. So the site has no way of knowing that you did use them.

Are there any plans to restore the ability to print pre-numbered labels? The only thing I can think of is you did the journals correctly, released correctly, then there was a site “restore” that rolled back those changes and the BCID’s to un-journaled pre-numbs, just as they templaet say, three days before that.

If you click it and go there, there will be a tab saying ‘request’. If you still have any of the books, you could try re-journaling them yourself; I think the prenum situation is a bit more stable now.

Maybe the site glitched way back when and gave you multiple sets of pre-nums when you wanted and thought you got only one?

, Avery MS Word label templates added today – Forum Post | BookCrossing

I don’t expect a huge flood of requests, but do bear in mind this is a “as time allows” offer, so please don’t expect an “Instant” response. What I started doing was taking snippets of reviews of the book I was about to release or put on the shelf, pasting these into the word bubble, then printing and cutting it out.

I do not have a single one I used them all up. Mail Merge also available Is this possible now?

Like you did the releases on a Thursday, and bang! Downloading new sets of prenumbereds is back up, too!

Best example is say you run a club with members and do a monthly newsletter. I don’t think you need to worry about that. I thought of this only tempoate I’d posted my original note, and typically didn’t have access to a PC to post it until now; If you can use a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel, why not do this to “generate” your pre-numb data for a mail merge, as a way to quickly print off the “hundreds” needed; Open a blank worksheet, and type the first number of the first batch of pre-numbers into the top left cell.

Yes I know you can do it by hand, but I really prefer to use the pre numbered,I just find it easier.

Moem, I apologise for being narky the other day. The label templates with Mail Merge work the same, except you have a data source containing all your BCID numbers, svery the template “reads” this data, and “fills in” the sheets of labels accordingly for you.

You’re more than welcome I’ll start using them tomorrow! Sorry, for now you can only use up those numbers by writing or typing them on blank sheets of labels. One version gives you 33 smaller labels per sheet, the second gives you larger labels, but about half as many, with 16 per sheet. I know that I don’t still have them. Prenumbered is last on that list.

You’ll find a list of your prenumbered and as yet unactivated BCIDs on your bookshelf if you have any. Sorry, I’m just now seeing your edit, as I find it difficult to navigate the fora The several new groups of BCIDs being reserved for me the day before the switch was not due to any bookcrossing problems, but to my attempts to get the non-functioning printing working tejplate my end.

Not at all, although Wikipedia is your friend here; http: The feature for using the numbers you already have is now in place.

Update on your progress are always good to get, and updates on things I’ve been waiting for are even better. If you’ve journaled them, don’t they then cease to be pre-numbers at that point?

I would love to be able to re journal them, but I’ve already wild released them all. Or shouldn’t I be telling everyone that? James, you have been doing some tepmlate useful stuff.

Re-uploaded Avery33 per sheet template, as spotted typo. I know that I have journalled the books with the pre numbered labels but I really can’t figure out why it says I still have them.

Good to see from the odd forum posting that some people are getting use out of the Microsoft Word label sheet templates I knocked up and uploaded to share at; http: Failing that, why not try the pre-number printing available at http: Then I’ll upload it to my page for you and anyone else to use. JamesUK 8 yrs ago. He’s been working on making them available again. Let’s hope your finders won’t find that offputting. I am using JamesUK’s labels that you can print temlate copy and pasting the numbers in tepmlate them from the pre-numbered labels before I print, but it does kind of defeat the object of pre-numbered labels.

Tempate also leave a tin of pre-numbered labels for other festival goers to use for their own books. Instead, you can create one document, complete with fields like “Name” “Address Line 1”, “Address Line2” etc, and then use data femplate say, your Hotmail address book to “populate” those fields. Hope that helps the cause. I hope you don’t mind if I ask you what ‘mail merge’ is?

You will then see a book appearing on your bookshelf that you never had or released. So if you have numbers on your shelf that haven’t been used, you can start doing that right now! Added new links for label template resources.

That means that your previously downloaded prenumbered BCIDs can be activated again, either by you or by twmplate finder. I just like to print out the “pre” labels aavery plain paper, and use that sheet for bookkeeping purposes. I know that happened to me awhile ago years, maybe?
